ABB REX010 Earth Fault Protection Unit
Description
Technical Parameters of ABB REX010 Earth Fault Protection Unit (English Introduction)
- Model and Identification
- Model Number: REX010
- Product Type: Earth Fault Protection Unit
- General Overview
- The ABB REX010 Earth Fault Protection Unit is specifically designed for efficient ground fault protection on the generator side, ensuring reliable operation of generators under various working conditions.
- Protection Capabilities
- Comprehensive Stator and Rotor Protection: The REX010, through components like REG216/316*4, achieves 100% stator and rotor ground fault protection. It can rapidly and accurately detect faults in any part of the generator for timely protection.
- High-Precision Fault Detection: Equipped with advanced fault detection algorithms, it ensures accurate identification of ground faults.
- Applicability
- Wide Range of Applications: Suitable not only for common generator grounding and excitation systems but also effective in all states of the machine, including stationary, startup, and running conditions. This broad applicability meets the needs of various complex working environments.
- Safety and Reliability
- High Safety and Reliability: Through precise detection and rapid response, the REX010 ensures timely and effective protection of generators during ground faults, preventing potential equipment damage and production interruptions.
- Functional Features
- Optional Impedance Method for Fault Location: The device is equipped with an optional impedance method measurement fault location function, suitable for locating faults in radiation distribution systems.
- Operation in Different Grounding Networks: Can operate in direct grounding and low-resistance grounding networks. When the fault current amplitude is the same as or higher than the load current, it can locate the ground fault in the neutral ungrounded distribution network.
- Fault Type Identification and Distance Calculation: It can identify the fault type and calculate the distance to the fault point, as well as estimate the grounding resistance value, providing possible fault causes and the distance to the fault point.
- Fault Recording
- Fault Wave Recording Function: The device has a fault wave recording function that can record at least 12 analog quantities and 64 on/off signal channels. The analog channel can record the waveforms of measured current and voltage or trends, triggered when the measured value is lower or higher than the set value. The on/off signal channel triggers the wave recording power at the rising or falling edge of the on-off signal. In the default configuration, the switching signal channel is set to record signals from external or internal devices, such as start or action signals of the device, external locking or control signals. The switching value signal used to trigger wave recording can be a protection start and action signal or an external input signal. Fault information is stored in nonvolatile memory.
